The Retriever Activities Center (RAC)
The RAC originally opened in 1973 and has recently completed a wide scale renovation project which has enhanced our facilites. The RAC is a 140,000 square foot complex that houses an arena with seating for 4000+, gymnasium with 3 multipurpose courts, aquatic complex with indoor and outdoor pools, indoor 1/10 of a mile track, fitness studios, spin room, functional fitness room, multiple weight rooms and cardio spaces, e-sports room, and various other offices, classrooms and meeting spaces. There are also outdoor tennis courts located behind the RAC.
Drop off / Pick-up
Drop off will take place at the roundabout behind the RAC, adjacent to the Admin Parking Garage. A red tent is set up each morning with tables to check-in your camper. Parents do not need to park, they can pull up to the curb, get out of their automobile and sign in their camper. Pick-up will take place inside the RAC facility at the end of each day.
Indoor Pool
The eight lane 25-yard indoor pool is used for swim instruction, free swim, and other water activities. Lifeguards are always on duty and camp counselors are required to be in the pool with their campers.
Outdoor Pool
The Olympic-size heated outdoor pool is used for free swim. Lifeguards are always on duty and camp counselors are required to be in the pool with their campers.
Pool Locker Rooms / General Locker Rooms
Newly remodeled pool side locker rooms will provide a fresher look with new flooring, showers, bathrooms, and lockers. General locker rooms are located adjacent to the RAC courts on the lower level.
RAC Courts
These are three multipurpose courts that can be used for a variety of activities including: sports and camp games, various competitions, specialty day activities, tennis instruction when there is inclement weather, fitness and dance, martial arts, etc. Divider curtains allow this space to be used for small or large group activities.
Arena Court
This area houses a full-size college basketball court and bleachers. The newly renovated Taraflex floor makes it an ideal space for sports and other camp games. This area is where we house our end of year camp talent show.
Track
Brand new Mondo flooring was installed on the 1/10 of a mile track. Summer Day Camp uses this space for fitness and dance activities relay races and other games and activities.
Fitness Studio A
Our existing fitness studio is a 3,000 square foot open space which makes it ideal for camp games, group activities, movies, fitness and dance, martial arts, yoga, and more.
Fitness Studio B
Our new fitness studio is a 2,000 square foot open space overlooking the RAC courts. This space will be used for camp games, group activities, movies, fitness and dance, martial arts, yoga, and more.
Admin Room 101
This is a large theater style room in a building adjacent to the RAC. It is typically used to watch movies on Fridays.
RAC Room 231
This room is a 700 square foot multipurpose meeting space with seating for 40. It is fully integrated with a/v system, speakers, 2 large flat screen tvs, and connectivity for WiFi and computer usage. It is ideal for arts and crafts, table games, and small group gatherings (trivia, enrichment, movies, etc.).
RAC Room 106
This room is a 600 square foot multipurpose meeting space with seating for 35. It is fully integrated with a/v system, speakers, 2 large flat screen tvs, and connectivity for WiFi and computer usage. It is ideal for arts and crafts, table games, and small group gatherings (trivia, enrichment, movies, etc.).
Tennis Courts
We have 6 outdoor tennis courts for use with tennis instruction as well as water activities and camp games. This area is also where campers eat snack when the weather is nice.
